Outside with Friends

That title just makes me smile and sigh--a recipe for happiness! Last Tuesday we met Josh & Christine at a local park and then walked home. My girls & I had walked to a (new!) local farmer's market for the first time (every Tuesday from 4-8 pm), then met the Smith kids at the park. I love the picture of the girls hanging in the trees. Christine could have hung there forever, adorable little featherweight! I still grin thinking she and Amelia are only a few weeks apart in age. Josh was "the MAN" and walked the whole way back to our house in spite of the double stroller.

On the way back we paused to peek into the beautiful, Catholic church where Tim's dad's funeral had been held that very morning. What a moving service. Tim's dad had sung for years in an Irish Men's choir, and we sat right behind them--the tears were just rolling down my cheeks as they sang, gloriously at the tops of their voices. The tears rolled again when Tim and his sister, Gina, spoke, interweaving beautifully the memories of their father with the hope that the Savior of the world offers to us all.
