The Labor Day special at the State Fair, was unlimited rides on the Midway with a $20 bracelet. Recalling the girls' love of the Boardwalk rides in Ocean City, we thought it would be a hit. How right we were. I think we easily rode $200 worth of rides. (I love that Evelyn got in the "Miller Light" car on the little raceway. How is it that there's a "Miller Light" car on a kids' ride, anyway??)
We walked through the animal barns and ate our bagged lunch, then went right back to the Midway. I even rode thiw spinning ride w/ Ev where you get inside this giant enclosed bowl (w/ about 30 teenagers & REALLY loud music) and laid your back against a pad on the wall. The whole thing closed up and spun harder & harder until the pads on which we were laying started sliding up the wall--it was hilarious (although I didn't feel quite right afterward.) Evelyn loved it.
At the end of it all, we enjoyed these gigantic ice cream cones, which the girls downed with no problem at all. Evelyn even finished the one Mom and I shared. That's my girl. What a nice way to end a day of endless rides with Grandma!
