June, Part II

June 21st is Summer Solstice--the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Diana, with varying groups of friends, has made a Summer Solstice day trip to Ocean City for about the past 7 years. The girls & I went again this year--hours and hours of sun, sand, and surf with good friends and their kids.

I love that the girls are always so heartbroken to be told, at 7 pm (after about 9 hrs. on the beach), that it's time to go.

The videos capture our two daughters' distinct ways of showing enthusiasm: Evelyn the shrieking arm-flapper and Amelia the subtly-shrugging singer.

This day looks like so much fun! I'm glad that it worked out well for everyone :) Tina - I love your new suit! And the girls definitely look like future surfers!
