Playing Catch Up!

Amelia's 7th b-day party was supposed to be a "Garden Party" at the Cylburn Arboretum (inspired by watching "The Secret Garden" in the Little Cottage in OC at Easter.)

Thanks to the rainy weather, it was a House Party instead. But still had a flower pot cake. :)

Presents are fun no matter where you open them.

Thank you notes are best written wearing Strawberry Shortcake sunglasses. Rose colored glasses are welcomed around here!

My crazy friend Tamara and her son, Tyshawn, went with us to the SHINE-FM summer blast concert at the Pier Six pavilion. Neither of us thought about how hard it would be to find parking for a van with a wheelchair lift. We parked about a mile away and walked. Perhaps the mileage inspired her face. She wouldn't let me post it to FB....wonder why??

Backyard tea party sometime in May.

Real (decaf) tea, real sugar, real Depression Glass, real teapot from Britain. Real good.

Real sunshine streaming through.

Our backyard roses bloom for such a short period of time. I think they inspired the tea party, actually.

Our artist and her typical attire.

Alan predicted that Amelia's crutches would come in handy. He was right. Remember that concert Tamara and I attended where we parked a mile away? Evelyn twisted her ankle playing on the lawn during the concert. I did not take her that seriously and made her walk all the way back to the car. She spent three days on crutches afterwards. World-class mom award.

World class kid award!! Toast with butter on a Christmas plate in June.

Aunt Betty took us to the awesome Greensboro Children's Museum when we took a road trip to NC for cousin Kelby's HS graduation. They had this cool shrinking machine...just kidding. It was super fun, though!

Amelia playing dental hygienist at the Children's Museum. I enjoyed lounging in the dental chair.

Looking mighty professional, if you ask me.

Making pizzas to order, still at the museum. At one point the three of us were interviewed by a boy from "Students-CNN"...but I think maybe his piece didn't make the internet cut. (I'm convinced by now that I'm not TV material. The four rejections from my Amazing Race applications should have proven it, but I needed this to cap it off. My poor kids. Evelyn was so excited about being famous...)

"Sister, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters..."
The trio at Kelby's graduation. We had such a fun weekend in NC!!

First cousins, First Cousins once removed, and a sweet girlfriend. :)

Pet slug, anyone?

Maybe we'll play a little more catch up later!
