Is that Eva Longoria on our blog? Why yes it is. She's posing with our friend Calvin, who is a contracted extra on the show "Desperate Housewives" with her. Cal grew up at River Valley Ranch with us, and has now made the degrees of separation between us and the stars much fewer.
Besides acting in TV shows, Cal started a hot new fad in Hollywood--game nights. Yes, people hire him to come in and host large-party variations of charades, etc., and on a recent visit home he hosted one and invited US! Di & I stayed out ridiculously late on a Tuesday to have this thrill, and I even took second place (winning a huge Lennox platter on which I served a turkey at Hamiltopia the next night.) Here I am facing off with Cal's mom, Vicki, in the Family Feud game. It was pure fun enjoyed in good company, reminding me that a cheerful heart really is good medicine (Pr.17:22), which comes in handy when one has stayed up late for it!
Earlier that day, the girls and I had met Cal, Vicki, and a good friend of theirs at RVR for lunch in the Buffalo Lodge. It was such a great time of fellowship--and isn't Evelyn's "cheese" face a hoot?
